The service
Free collection in Al Mizhar 3, back tomorrow
The shop is in Al Khawaneej 2, and the run up to Al Mizhar 3 is one road: the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, which ends at this district’s north-east corner and goes no further. That makes collection here straightforward on every street inside the loop, and free, on the same small minimum as everywhere else. Standard turnaround is 24 hours. The one thing worth saying plainly is the top edge: the last streets before the Sharjah line sit at the end of our route, so if your wall backs onto the sand strip along the border, ask us on the phone before you plan around it.

About Al Mizhar 3
Al Mizhar 3 is the quietest of the three Al Mizhars and the only one whose northern boundary is not a road but the Dubai border itself. Six and a half thousand people live on two and a half square kilometres of walled villa compounds, which makes it the least crowded district for some distance in any direction. Dubai Statistics Center still prints its old name beside the new one, because until it was renumbered this was Oud Al Muteena 2, and plenty of post still says so.
Where we collect
The communities inside Al Mizhar 3
Every one of these is inside our collection area. The differences are at the door, not in what we can take.
- The numbered streets
- Every street inside Al Mizhar 3 is a bare number, from 1 Street up to 59 Street, and none of them has a name. Some older directories give addresses here in the two hundreds instead, so a mosque or a shop can be listed on a road number that does not appear on any street plate. If a driver has ever circled your block, that is why. The Makani number on your gate settles it in one go, and we will ask for it rather than guess.
- The villa compounds
- Detached villas on plots of twelve to fifteen thousand square feet, walled to the plot line, with the gate opening straight onto the carriageway. There are no apartment blocks here and no long driveways, so a collection is a doorbell at a wall rather than a walk up to a house. Many compounds hold a second building behind the main villa, which is usually where the household laundry actually gathers.
- The Tunis Street corner
- The south-east corner, where Tunis Street meets the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, is the district’s one piece of passing trade: a petrol station with a shop and a fast food unit. Everything else here is residential, and the nearest supermarket run is out of the district in one direction or the other.
- The Sharjah edge
- The whole northern boundary is the emirate line, with a few hundred metres of open sand between the last row of walls and Sharjah. It is the reason the closest schools to this district are in Sharjah rather than in Dubai, and the reason the top of the map looks empty: it is empty.
What leaves the house
What a household in Al Mizhar 3 sends out
A villa household here sends out more of the heavy things than a flat ever does, and less of the daily churn. Majlis rugs and floor cushions come off the floor twice a year and go back down needing to look as they did. Curtains on villa-height windows collect the fine dust that blows in off the open ground to the north, and they come down more often than most people expect. Kanduras and abayas move every week, in numbers, and they are the pieces where the finish is the whole point. Bed linen and duvets go out in quantity because there are more bedrooms than a home machine has capacity for.
At the door
Getting to your door in Al Mizhar 3
Collections here are simple and slow in equal measure. There is no gate to the district, no guardhouse and no visitor pass, so nobody has to be called ahead of us. What takes the time is that the streets loop and dead-end rather than run in a grid, the walls look alike, and the numbering does not always agree with the map. We ask for a Makani number when we book, and after the first collection the driver knows the wall. If your gate is set back off a cul-de-sac, say so once and it stays on the job.
